Job description
Manufacturing Shift ManagerManage all aspects of the manufacturing operations for assigned shift reporting.Responsibilities include:Meeting established safety, quality, line efficiency, yield, cost per case and customer service goals/standardsManagement of hourly employees to include hiring, firing, disciplinary actions, training and development, completion of performance evaluations, approval and maintenance of records of employee attendance/hours workedEnforcing safety and sanitation regulationsWorking with cross functional teams to resolve technical problemsReviewing material transactions and completing production work ordersEnforcing safety and housekeeping rules and policiesManaging/supervising 10+ hourly employeesCoaching, mentoring and developing staff, including preparing and conducting employee performance appraisalMaintaining employee work schedules including timecard approval, work assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time offReporting food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate actionRequired education, skills, and experience include:High School Diploma or GED requiredAssociates Degree with 3-5 years supervisory experience in a production setting, preferredExperience in food, beverage or pharmaceutical industry and/or high speed packaged consumer goods manufacturing environmentEffective communication skills, verbal and writtenExperience in department cost control and budget managementExcellent leadership capability - ability to motivate and influence othersLean manufacturing and/or Lean Six Sigma experienceWorking conditions include:Constant exposure to extreme loud noisesConstant standing and moving by footConstant exposure to extreme hot/cold (non-weather) environmentConstant work in high places and near moving mechanical partsFrequent lifting/carrying 50 poundsPotential exposure to caustic chemicalsDisclaimer: The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed and is not an inclusive summary of job duties and responsibilities.
