Job description

Production Supervisor 2nd ShiftThe Production Supervisor 2nd Shift oversees floor operations at a corporate manufacturing headquarters, ensuring that production activities run efficiently, safely, and in alignment with engineering and quality standards. This role manages shift schedules, coordinates workflow, and leads production staff while maintaining high levels of product quality and operational performance.ResponsibilitiesManage daily shift schedules for the 2nd shift and ensure appropriate staffing levels across production areas.Coordinate the flow of work on the manufacturing floor and assign tasks to Production Workers, Assemblers, and Material Handlers.Monitor product quality in close collaboration with the Quality Control department to ensure racking structures meet engineering specifications.Track throughput metrics to evaluate production performance and identify opportunities for improvement.Monitor and manage machine downtime, taking prompt action to resolve immediate production bottlenecks.Oversee general production activities, including assembly, material handling, sorting, and machine operation.Ensure strict adherence to OSHA regulations and corporate safety standards on the factory floor.Promote a safety-focused culture by reinforcing safe work practices and proper use of tools and equipment.Support training and onboarding of production staff during the initial 1st shift training period and transition them smoothly to 2nd shift operations.Collaborate with other departments to maintain efficient production schedules and meet operational targets.Essential SkillsMinimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory role.Demonstrated experience in production supervision and production management.Strong experience in general production, including assembly and material handling.Ability to enforce and maintain OSHA and corporate safety standards on the factory floor.Capability to monitor product quality and work effectively with Quality Control teams.Experience tracking throughput metrics and managing machine downtime.Ability to lift and move heavy materials weighing 50 pounds or more.Hands-on experience working in manufacturing and warehouse environments.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with hand and power tools in a production or assembly setting.Experience in material handling, including sorting and machine operating tasks.Ability to coordinate and lead teams of Production Workers, Assemblers, and Material Handlers.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to address production bottlenecks quickly.Comfort working in environments that are not climate controlled.Why Work Here?Join a fast-growing organization in the solar PV structural mounting industry, offering the opportunity to contribute to a company that has experienced substantial growth and continues to expand. The workspace is not climate controlled, and the role involves regular movement around the factory floor and the ability to lift 50 pounds or more. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, with initial training on 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., followed by a transition to 2nd shift from 3:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. You will work around production machinery, racking structures, and standard manufacturing equipment in a hands-on operational setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albuquerque, NM.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.96 - $28.85/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
