Milwaukee Tool – 2nd Shift SupervisorThe Production Supervisor will oversee the production of our product through several phases performed internally and externally to meet on time delivery. They'll prioritize and schedule in-house production work orders using our MRP system, assist the Production Manager with monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts as well as ensure capacities are accurate internally and externally to meet forecasted demand.The position reports to the Production Manager at Milwaukee ToolEssential Duties & Responsibilities:Schedule Work Orders needed for daily production requirements for various work cellsMaintaining production staff hours and schedules including logging attendance notes and managing time in softwareCommunicating and working with the HR department regarding production staff needs including temporary employee management, policy violations, conflict and evaluationsProvide performance feedback to Supervisors and Managers on team members as neededTrain new Production Team LeadsCommunicate with Production Manager and Engineering as equipment and process issues exist internally and externally and require prompt resolutionAdheres to IB implemented safety standards including (PPE), work practice controls, and OSHA guidelinesEnsure proper costing of inventory through production processesOversee and communicate training of Leads and production staff on proper use of equipmentWork with the Safety Manager to ensure safety policies are being followedParticipate in continuous improvement efforts in support of lean processes and lead problem solving teams or kaizen eventsAble to recognize and improve points of failure in the flow of production and implement countermeasures, escalate or recommend solutionsOversee improvement of One-Piece Flow process in each work cell.Help to implement KPI's and visual management tools on the production floorOversee the work cells are performing to best practices while keeping quality top priorityResponsible for order management and provides information to appropriate personnel, including the Team Leads, regarding needed changes and adjustmentsAssist Production Manager with creation of monthly, quarterly and annual forecastUnderstand daily work expectations and assist in assigning it to team members in which prioritizes the workload and equipment schedule to meet both internal and external demandEffectively communicate with managers, engineers, technicians and necessary co-workersResolve schedule challenges as they arise by coordinating with necessary departmentsDevelop program to ensure standard of quality is met before all products leave facilityMaintain and apply Pareto principal practices used by Imperial BladesWillingness to complete assigned special projects and other dutiesRequests are completed with a good attitude and by needed deadlinesSkills & Qualifications:Must have excellent oral and written communication skillsPossess ability to resolve problems, recognize normal and unusual situationsAbility to work with manual and/or power equipment and toolsPossess proven mechanical ability or aptitudeDemonstrates strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environmentAccuracy and attention to detail requiredMaintains a positive attitude and remains flexible to changing work environmentsIs able to think independently, assign work to their team and work without directionEnglish skills to understand quality, safety, work instructions, personnel information, etc.Microsoft Office proficiency including Outlook, Word and ExcelAbility to use ERP/MRP system (NetSuite a plus)Education and/or Experience:Production experience of 5 years minimumBachelor's degree in manufacturing management or equivalent experiencePrevious supervisory experience and managing teams of employeesExperience with production schedulingKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing PrinciplesExperience with inventory costing conceptsUnderstanding of the Pareto principle and philosophyPhysical Demands & Work Environment:The employee may be required to frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusFrequent walking and sittingOccasional bending, crouching, twisting, reachingPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain work cells is requiredMilwaukee Tool is an equal opportunity employer.
