Job description
Production Supervisor – 2nd ShiftThe Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift will oversee all second shift operations to ensure efficient and effective production of product.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervise the manufacturing, packaging, and warehousing of all related media products on second shift in accordance with established procedures and specificationsMonitor all second shift team member activity and coach them effectively as neededPractice and enforce safety practices regarding work place activity and use of equipmentProvide on-the-job training to manufacturing, packaging, and warehousing personnel as requiredAssign work schedule to the various work centers on a timely basis to assure proper machinery and labor utilizationInterface with Production Management, Production Planning, Quality Assurance, and Machine Maintenance team members as neededDemonstrate knowledge of all essential manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse processes, machinery, and equipmentUse analytical skills to monitor production output and check for compliance with specificationsUse critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including ability to spot issues in efficiency and productivity and suggest improvementsGenerate and submit reports on employee performance and progressUse coaching and training skills to onboard new employees, including instruction on safe behavior in all aspects of the jobParticipate in hiring process for new team membersRequired Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate's or Bachelor's degree preferredExperience in a manufacturing environmentAdditional Preferred Skills, Experience, and CertificationsFour or more years of work experience in a manufacturing environment, including management responsibilitiesPhysical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the supervisor is regularly required to sit, stand and walk for sustained periods of time. The employee frequently is required to use hands, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Special Working Conditions / Travel RequirementsThis job operates in a manufacturing production and warehouse environment. Little to no travel is expected.
