Job description
Production Supervisor - StocktonThe Production Supervisor - Stockton is responsible for directing production employees on their assigned shift to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and delivery standards. This role oversees daily operations, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and promotes a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.Job DutiesDirect and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in production operations, including inspectors, machine operators, and fabricatorsMonitor workflow and production schedules to ensure targets for efficiency, quality, and timeliness are metNotify Maintenance or Engineering when equipment requires repair or preventive maintenanceTrack and report key production metrics, including output, downtime, efficiency, and quality performanceCollaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to identify and resolve production issues promptlyEnsure proper staffing, materials, and inventory levels to meet production demandTrain, coach, and evaluate production employees to ensure adherence to standard work practices and productivity expectationsEnforce company policies, safety rules, and performance standards, addressing discipline and performance issues in coordination with HR as neededApply Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, streamline workflow, and improve process efficiencyImplement and sustain 5S practices (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to promote a safe and organized work environmentUtilize Six Sigma methodologies to analyze process variation, implement corrective actions, and achieve measurable improvementsFacilitate continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen events, Gemba walks, and value stream mappingEnsure compliance with all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned.Experience and EducationHigh school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.Minimum of 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S principlesExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to read blueprints, production schedules, and technical instructionsProficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP or production management systemsCompetencies/ SkillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work as part of a teamDecision-making skillsExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skillsAbility to stand, walk, and be on the production floor for extended periodsProject management skillsPlanning skillsThis position has a salary range of $78,000 to $90,000 and is an exempt position.EOE-Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran
