Working Production SupervisorAmsterdam, NY | $85,000–$90,000 | 2:00 PM–10:30 PM | Direct HireHands-On Leadership Opportunity!Are you an experienced manufacturing professional who enjoys working on the production floor while leading a team? This is an excellent opportunity to step into a Working Production Supervisor role with responsibility for approximately 8–12 production employees.You'll provide hands-on leadership across areas such as welding, material handling, grinding, machine shop, and paint, while helping ensure production goals, quality standards, safety requirements, and schedules are consistently met.What You'll DoLead and supervise a team of 8–12 production employees while actively participating in manufacturing activities.Provide hands-on support with welding, material handling, grinding, machining, painting, and other production operations based on your experience.Operate equipment such as forklifts, plasma tables, and welding equipment, as applicable.Coordinate machine setups and production activities to meet quality, productivity, schedule, and cost goals.Organize and assign work based on employee skills, equipment, tooling, and production requirements.Monitor daily workflow and resolve production issues within the team.Work closely with the Production Manager regarding staffing, scheduling, training, and production needs.Review production paperwork for accuracy and completeness.Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operation.Recommend maintenance, safety, and process improvements to management.Promote a strong safety culture and immediately address safety concerns.Coach, guide, and develop employees to improve performance and productivity.Participate in safety committees, job evaluations, and performance reviews.Ensure production areas are clean, organized, and ready for the next day.Serve as Emergency Response Team Leader when needed.Complete required safety inspections and ensure employees follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.Secure the facility at the end of the night when assigned.What We're Looking For5+ years of manufacturing/production experience.High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.Hands-on experience in at least two of the following: WeldingPaintingGrindingDrillingMachiningHydraulic assemblyForklift operationOverhead crane operationRelated metal fabrication/manufacturingPrevious experience leading or supervising production employees.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Ability to work effectively with management, coworkers, vendors, and distributors.Comfortable working with various technologies.Preferred ExperienceKnowledge of blueprint symbols, welding symbols, and welding terminology.Experience reading and interpreting engineered drawings.Lean Manufacturing experience.3+ years of ERP system experience.Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.Certified forklift operator.College degree or additional manufacturing/technical education.CTD115Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
