Job description

Production SupervisorAs a Production Supervisor you will have the critical task of managing the priorities, equipment, and people associated with the production line. Your experience in fast-paced production lines where process and equipment development are key features will make you an ideal candidate for this role. You have a passion for employee development and enjoy the process of training and developing both new hires and veteran production staff. You are very hands-on and prefer to be on the production floor and have proven skills in both process and equipment troubleshooting, allowing you to easily adapt to constantly changing production environments.ResponsibilitiesExecute on priorities and production plans provided by operations managementManage, coach, mentor and support up to 35 production associates on shiftExecute and maintain Standardized Manufacturing instructions and Control plansSupport issue resolution including root cause investigation & corrective action trackingEnsure quality standards are being met throughout the entire production process and support no defects from leaving a station or team areaGenerate daily pass downs and quality reports for engineering and operations teamTesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, correcting proactively workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operationsRequirementsDegree preferred or relevant experience3+ years managing or supervising teams of people in a high-volume production environmentExperience in powder handling, mixing, roll winding and conveyance is preferredExperience supporting process development and equipment maintenanceKnowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing or 6-Sigma principlesMust have command of the English language, both written and verbalProficient with MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)Essential Physical Demands:Ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel for up to 12 hours a dayFrequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairsFrequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reachAbility to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearingWearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: PAPR, safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelinesCompensation & BenefitsBenefitsAlong with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deductionFamily-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefitsDental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contributionCompany Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSAHealthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefitsCompany paid Basic Life, AD&DShort-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period)Employee Assistance ProgramSick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid HolidaysBack-up childcare and parenting support resourcesVoluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insuranceWeight Loss and Tobacco Cessation ProgramsTesla Babies programCommuter benefitsEmployee discounts and perks program
