If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Production Supervisor located in Walker, Michigan.Reporting to the Production Manager the Production Supervisor will be directing the manufacturing operations performed in a shift or group of production lines, ensuring they reach volume, quality, and cost goals. Reviews daily/regularly plant operating performance, evaluate areas that may be impacting performance, and advise on changes in operating conditions that will improve efficiencies/quality.Shift Hours: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm EST (M-F and some weekends)What a Typical Day Looks Like:Produce several processes/lines in a highly technical environment.Manages a team of professionals (e.g., engineers/officers) to meet quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness requirements.Troubleshoots/analyzes operational problems and advises on their resolution. Holds regular discussions with operators to coach performance and improve operational understanding/capability.Evaluate ideas for plant improvements and work with qualified engineers to develop project proposals to encourage improvements and changes.Provides technical/operational advice to project teams.May act as principal interface between the operation team and the maintenance function.Train and coach junior operators and junior team supervisorsPrioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply to meet customer requirements.Initiates and participates in process development and cost improvement projects.Assists in department budget planning and manage department expenses.Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.Ensures compliance of standards, all manufacturing area personnel are trained and certified in their specific functionsEnsure that all manufacturing personnel adhere to all safety guidelines.The experience we're looking to add to our team:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Production and Manufacturing5+ year in a Manufacturing environment.Experience with any ERP like SAP or BAAN is desired.Knowledge of Payroll system like ADP or Kronos is good to have.Experience in leading high performing teams, recent experience in supervisory rolesProven track record of building high performing teams and Leadership & Interpersonal skillsExperience with reviewing material, equipment, and manpower resource requirements.Good communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.The 5S System (Lean Manufacturing Methodology)BenefitsFull range of medical, dental, and vision plansLife InsuranceShort-term and Long-term DisabilityMatching 401(k) ContributionsVacation and Paid Sick TimeTuition ReimbursementJob Category: OperationsIs Sponsorship Available?NoFlex is an Equal Opportunity Employer and employment selection decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
