Job description

Production SupervisorThis role oversees the daily operations of the production floor, ensuring products are built to exacting standards. This role balances people leadership, production planning, and continuous improvement to deliver quality products on time and within budget. The supervisor develops technicians, coordinates with engineering and supply chain teams, and drives a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.Summary of Essential Job Functions:Direct, coach, and develop a team of electro-mechanical assemblers, technicians, and leads.Plan daily work assignments, set priorities, and adjust staffing to meet production schedules.Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.Ensure daily/weekly production goals are met for assemblies and sub-systems.Partner with engineering to transition new products into production (NPI).Monitor WIP, resolve bottlenecks, and maintain balanced workflow across stations.Enforce quality standards, practices (IPC, aerospace/DoD standards), and documentation accuracy.Lead root cause investigations for defects, implementing corrective and preventive actions.Ensure compliance with ESD, cleanroom, and defense export control requirements (ITAR/EAR).Apply lean manufacturing, 5S, and visual management practices to improve efficiency.Drive initiatives for waste reduction, improved yields, and cycle time reduction.Collaborate with supply chain on material availability and cost reduction opportunities.Track KPIs such as output, quality yield, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery.Provide daily/weekly reports to Operations and Engineering leadership.Use data to identify trends and proactively recommend improvements.Other duties as assigned.Education and Experience Qualifications:Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.5 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly or aerospace/defense manufacturing.2 years in a lead or supervisory role overseeing production staff.Knowledge of gimbal systems, servo motors, sensors, or precision electro-mechanical products preferred.Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and ERP/MRP systems.Physical Demands of Position:Physically able to lift up to 20 pounds (materials/equipment)Effective use of computer, laptop, cell phone and other mobile device to exchange information.Competencies and Skills Requirements:Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Excellent team skills and team-oriented.Excellent time management skills and meets deadlines.Flexible; able to multitask in response to time-sensitive and changing situations.Effective listening skills.Objective, solution-oriented problem-solving skills.Handles highly sensitive and confidential information.Resourceful, able to network and connect people to appropriate resources.Technology savvy, comfortable using MS software products.Strong planning and organizational skills and follow-through.Resilient, stays positive and solution-oriented.Perceptive, discovers underlying issues in situations and re-states them in a helpful way.Self-starter with a strong work ethic, able to work without direct supervision.Disclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
