Job description

Production SupervisorABBA Roller is seeking a Production Supervisor. This position is responsible for the overall production and supervision of the assigned production department at ABBA Roller's facility in Ontario, CA. This position will work closely with other departments and support teams to ensure alignment to ABBA Roller directives and initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role that will directly contribute to the growth of business through positive trending of customer related metrics. Critical metrics for this role are as follows: Safety, Quality, Productivity, On-Time-Delivery, Cost, and Employee Supervision and Retention.This position works in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment and utilizes knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to deliver world class results in efficiency, quality and productivity.About ABBA Roller:ABBA Roller specializes in high-performance urethane & rubber rollers and wheels as well as custom elastomer solutions for industrial and commercial applications. We support customers across diverse industries with durable, precision-engineered products.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Embodies a "Safety First" cultureSupervises assigned department operations in alignment with strategic business plans and goalsSchedules work to the department daily to ensure that OTD and quality requirements are achievedMaintains KPI metrics for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity within departmentManages capacity for department by level loading and driving improvementsCoordinates with Supervisors of other departments, Inventory Control, and Quality to ensure commitments are met while utilizing the capacity of the operation in an efficient mannerOperates with clear and proactive communication to all relevant departments, including Planning, Purchasing, and Customer ServiceDrives positive customer experience with a focus on Quality and On-Time DeliveryWorks with Facilities team to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and is operating in a safe manner.Manages, develops, and leads talent within the organizationUtilizes continuous improvement (lean) across all areas to improve cost, quality and efficiencyProvides a safe work environment through focus on 6S, risk reduction and data driven decision making.Supports capital projects related to assigned departmentDrives accurate job traveler adherence and completion in departmentSupports compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory agencies including OSHA and AQMDMitigates legal risks in areas pertaining to applicable Employment Laws through timely and accurate documentation in areas of Performance Management, Employee Relations and Investigations, Safety and Worker Compensation.Embodies the company's ACE values: Accountable, Collaborative, EmpoweredWorks extended days and/or weekends as requiredOther duties as assignedEducation and Experience Required:An Associates degree or a High School Diploma/GED plus four (4) years relevant experience. Appropriate certifications may be substituted for meeting educational requirements only. Polymer manufacturing environment preferred.Experience in a low volume/high mix manufacturing environmentExperience in Lean ManufacturingExperience working with ERP and MES systemsAbility to maintain a safe working environment through proper housekeeping, safety and EHS procedures and practices and OSHA complianceUnderstanding of manufacturing technologies and processesCompetencies:Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and listening). Ability to adjust communication style to multiple audiences, facilitate group coaching, and information sharing. Ability to positively address and effectively deal with noncompliance through effective interpersonal skills. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.Excellent people skills – maintain a positive attitude and ability to motivate people, specifically coaching individuals and providing appropriate feedback and support.Able and willing to face challenging situations.
