Production SupervisorThe Production Supervisor is responsible for managing small work teams in a fast paced, high volume, unionized manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include coordinating all activities to achieve business metrics and implementing World Class Manufacturing processes in coordination with other WCM Plant Pillars. Supervisors are expected to work on both the first and second shifts, with weekend availability required. Leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is strongly preferred, especially in the automotive sector. A high school diploma is required, while a bachelor's degree is preferred. Preferred qualifications include 2+ years of supervisory experience, experience in a union environment, and exposure to continuous improvement/lean manufacturing systems.Candidates should be comfortable leading teams of 3–5 groups, presenting metrics and updates at shop-floor and leadership boards, and using Microsoft tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word). The Production Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring team safety, building teams and training, driving and implementing continuous improvement solutions to improve product quality and reach throughput and cost targets, and ensuring team morale.Basic qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, ability to work any shift and overtime as required, excellent organization, written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, goal oriented self-starter with ability to lead teams, ability to coach/mentor/develop team members, and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a technical field, 2 or more years' experience in supervision in a high-volume environment, demonstrated ability to coach/mentor/develop team members, previous experience working in a union environment, experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing, and proficiency using Microsoft tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
