Converting Utility Operator/General LaborPOSITION: Converting Utility Operator/General Labor – Coal Center, PAShift: openings on 1st and 2nd shiftPay: $18.47/hr + $0.55/hr shift differentialQUALIFICATIONS:The ability to learn and perform all job functions of the Converting Utility Operator and train. The ability to read, comprehend and interpret written and graphic instructions on factory work orders, factory print cards and to understand design specifications. The ability to write, read a tape measure in 1/16 increments, general mathematical knowledge including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Follow instructions as well as work as a team member. Be willing to assist on all converting machines.PRIMARY DUTIES:Follow all safety rules and practices.Follow line clearing proceduresPerform machine set up tasks on both gluers as directed by the production spec in a timely manner.Set up and follow all stacking patterns according to production spec.Ability to understand a print spec.Ability to understand a production spec.Ability to run Machine efficiently and independently.Ability to meet or exceed daily production goals in a timely and safe manner.Ensure quality standards are met on every order.Ability to learn all finishing machines as well as assist on the main line bander.Completing paperwork and input computer data.After machine is set up assist the operator as needed.Use of available time to prepare machine for next set up.Perform other duties as assigned by a Supervisor, Superintendent or Production Manager.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATIONPrevious experience preferredHigh School diploma or GEDAbility to deal with other employees and management in a courteous, tactful, and patient mannerPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMay be required to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) occasionally. Standing up to 12 hours per day and walking to and from various machines and locations throughout the facility. Ability to grasp objects with hands and fingers. Ability to repetitively bend and twist at trunk level. Ability to crouch and/or kneel when required.Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
