Production Worker-1 Sheet Metal AssemblyWilkes-Barre, PA 18705OverviewPosition Type Full Time Category ManufacturingDescriptionWe are seeking full-time Production Associates for our Sheet Metal Assembly Department. Associates in these positions utilize a variety of hand tools and related equipment to assemble raw and semi-finished material into finished Metro product. Job duties vary within the Assembly Department and are interchangeable. Associates are required to have the ability to perform all job duties within the department to support various functions. Attention to detail is required and all associates must meet standards for acceptable production and quality.Candidates selected for these positions must successfully complete screening requirements and a probationary period of 400 working hours. Please note that these opportunities are part of a bargaining unit rooted in seniority principles. Consequently, shifts are not guaranteed. Applicants should be available to work any shift.Job ResponsibilitiesAssembles various components of Metro product to manufacture customized finished product.Reads and interprets orders to ensure the finished product meets customer orders.Uses computer to research product specifications.Checks parts dimensions using a variety of measuring equipment.Must have basic math skills.Meets production and quality standards.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Cleans and maintains work area.Must be available to work overtime as business needs dictateAbility to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environmentRegular attendance is required.Basic QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience in sheet metal assembly.Previous experience working in a manufacturing environmentPrevious experience working with hand toolsAdditional InformationEmployee benefits and additional rate increases are available after successful completion of the screening process and a probationary period of 400 working hours.About InterMetro IndustriesInterMetro Industries (Metro), a Business Unit of Ali Group North America, is a leader in storage and transport products in the Food Service, Commercial Products and Healthcare Industries.
