Production WorkerWe are seeking candidates to work in our manufacturing environment, creating quality windows and patio doors. All candidates will be cross-trained in multiple areas within the facility.ResponsibilitiesDouble Hung: Involves heavy lifting, repetitive work, and requires the ability to read schedules/labels.Direct Set: Requires the ability to work independently, learn about different materials and colors, and read paperwork and labels.CSMT: Role involves using a sash hanger, tape measure, and reading schedules.Patio Door: Involves heavier lifting and tape measure use.Essential SkillsExperience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment (minimum 6 months).Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16th of an inch.Solid attendance record.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh attention to detail.Awareness of surroundings.Willingness to ask questions when unsure.Adaptable to cross-training in multiple areas.Comfortable lifting 50lbs.Able to speak English, whether secondary language or not.Why Work Here?Benefit package including medical, vision, and dental. Contractors, once hired, receive benefits similar to long-term internal employees.Work EnvironmentThis is a fully on-site position in West Des Moines, Iowa, with the 1st shift running from 6am-2:30pm, five days a week. The current schedule involves working 40 hours a week, with preparations for a busy season where there will be 50-hour work weeks and a requirement to work two Saturdays a month. We operate in a manufacturing environment across three facilities, which are not temperature controlled. The team size averages around 100 employees per facility. Dress code requires work-appropriate shirts, jeans or shorts, and mandatory steel-toed shoes.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
