Job description
Production WorkerThis role supports a syrup flavoring production facility by operating on the bottling line to ensure products are filled, labeled, capped, inspected, and packaged accurately and safely. You will work on your feet throughout the shift, handle both glass and plastic bottles, and perform quality checks to maintain high production and food safety standards.ResponsibilitiesWork on the bottling line in a syrup flavoring plant, ensuring continuous and efficient production.Inspect bottles for correct labels, proper fill levels, syrup overflow, leaks, and secure caps to meet quality and safety standards.Handle glass and plastic bottles carefully to prevent breakage, contamination, and product loss.Lift and move boxes containing full and empty bottles, weighing up to 75 pounds, in a safe and efficient manner.Perform quality control checks on products and packaging to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).Assist with packaging operations, including boxing, palletizing, and preparing products for shipment.Follow established production procedures and safety protocols while working on multiple bottling lines.Maintain a clean and organized work area to support food manufacturing and safety requirements.Wear required personal protective equipment, including hair and beard nets and safety glasses, at all times in the production area.Collaborate with team members on the line to meet production goals and address issues promptly.Essential SkillsAt least 2 years of food manufacturing experience, with consideration for candidates who have a minimum of 1 year of experience.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently and up to 75 pounds when handling boxes of bottles.Experience in production, packaging, or bottling line operations.Understanding of quality control practices within a production or manufacturing environment.Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).Ability to stand on your feet for the duration of the shift while performing repetitive tasks.Attention to detail when inspecting labels, fill levels, caps, and packaging.Capability to follow safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious production experience in a bottling or packaging environment is a plus.Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems is a plus.Experience with palletizing and working with pallets in a production setting.Experience in inspection and quality control within food or beverage manufacturing is beneficial.Why Work Here?The company offers excellent benefits and fosters a culture of appreciation, including employee lunches, events, and barbecues. There are typically 4 to 10 team members working per line, with 4 lines running concurrently. The facility operates at room temperature and follows food manufacturing standards. You will work on your feet for most of the shift and handle both glass and plastic bottles. Personal protective equipment, including hair and beard nets and safety glasses, is required as part of the dress code to maintain product safety and compliance.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Leandro, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
