Program Counselor
Program: DARE
Location: 700 Airport Road, Lakewood New Jersey 08701
Position Type: Full Time
Salary: $36,000.00
Job Description/Summary
The Program Counselor is responsible for providing psychoeducational groups and case management to co-occurring population. The Program Counselor also provides linkages to resources and completes all documentation in a timely manner. This is a full time position, Monday though Friday, day shift.
No weekends or major holidays required. Full benefit package available for: Paid time off, Health insurance, Vision insurance, Dental insurance, and retirement plan.
Responsibilities
Engages Co-Occurring clients and provides explanation of services; Works effectively with the full spectrum of diagnosis disorders.
Demonstrates ability to assess risk category, mental status, level of compliance and motivation.
Demonstrates ability to assess clients' needs, and provide interventions that are timely and appropriate.
Effectively provides group counseling, utilizing our best practice curriculum.
Completes progress/group notes accurately, addressing treatment goals, major clinical issues and changes in mental health status.
Competencies
Proficient written and verbal communication
Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Demonstrates ability to perform basic computer functions and use of electronic records as required by job function.
Coordinate services with internal and external providers of consumer's care
Works effectively with the full spectrum of diagnosis disorders; Demonstrates empathy and compassion
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, or LPN with 2 years experience in addictions and mental health issues.
License: Valid New Jersey Drivers License in good standing.
