Job description

Program Support AssistantThe Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The student "Program Support Assistant" will provide general administrative support to the FOCUS Programs, which are part of Early Childhood Home and Family Services Division at the Center for Development and Disability. Preference will be availability for 20 hours per week. Work is off campus at CDD office. Work hours are scheduled during regular business hours M-F 8am-5pm. Student must have reliable transportation.The FOCUS Program provides integrated, comprehensive medical care for families impacted by substance use, home-based early intervention, and Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health and trauma-informed assessment and treatment services. Students will collaborate with other administrative staff to support the day-to-day operations within the Specialized Early Childhood Unit. The student Program Support Assistant will be part of an administrative team, supporting direct service staff, clinicians, and managers.Specific duties will include:Filing client recordsData entryCreate client filesOrganize supplies and materialsCreate intake/informational packetsOccasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.The successful candidate will have the following qualities:Positive and flexible attitude, ready to helpThe ability to work in an environment that supports at-risk children and families in needPunctual and reliable attendanceAdvanced organizational and time-management skillsAdaptable to change, able to handle last-minute work assignments, and unafraid of working hardEffective communication skills as demonstrated through the interview processSensitivity and awareness when working with confidential informationMinimum QualificationsPreferred Qualifications - ***Address in your cover letter how your experience and skills align with our preferred qualifications*** Interpersonal skills for engagement with clinical, administrative, and direct service staff. Knowledge and skills with technology and software, including proficiency with MS Office Word, Excel and databases applications. Advanced organizational skills.
