Job description
Position Summary
nThe Project Accountant is responsible for coordinating all phases of the construction job costing process including categorizing, recording, analyzing and monitoring costs and billings associated with a large construction project as well as several smaller less complex projects. This position also assures vendor compliance in order to manage project risk. This role is assigned to a large construction project, working closely with the Project Manager to assure timely and accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project life cycle.
nPosition Details
nnnCompiles, prepares and analyzes monthly project billings per contract requirements.
n
nnPerforms financial analysis and reconciliation of project costs versus project budget.
n
nnProcesses project accounts payable and subcontracts payable.
n
nnManages vendor compliance, insurance, lien waivers, retention and W-9s.
n
nnProduces and analyzes job performance and profitability through jobs cost tracking reports.
n
nnAssists in preparation of status reports and maintains accurate project statuses and budget information in COINs.
n
nnIdentifies and resolves basic and more complex project related accounting issues and resolves in a timely manner.
n
n nQualifications
nnnBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience preferred
n
nn3-5 years of project accounting experience preferred
n
nnStrong accounting knowledge
