nFreed Industrial Services (FIS) is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant to join our team in Bethlehem, PA. This position plays a critical role in supporting project operations through accurate financial reporting, job cost tracking, billing, and accounting support. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
nEssential Responsibilities
nnMaintain financial records for multiple projects from inception through completion.
nMonitor and analyze project costs, budgets, commitments, and revenue.
nPrepare and submit customer billings in accordance with contract requirements.
nReview and reconcile project-related accounts, including labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment costs.
nAssist project managers with budget tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting.
nPrepare project cost reports and variance analyses.
nProcess and track subcontractor invoices and related documentation.
nSupport month-end and year-end closing activities.
nMaintain compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and contractual requirements.
nCollaborate with Operations, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Project Management teams.
nAssist with audits and special projects as needed.
n nQualifications
nnBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
nMinimum of 3 years of accounting experience; project or construction accounting experience preferred.
nStrong understanding of job costing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
nAbility to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
nExcellent organizational and time-management skills.
nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.
nEffective verbal and written communication skills.
nAbility to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
n nPreferred Qualifications
nnExperience in construction, industrial services, or project-based industries.
nKnowledge of contract billing, percentage-of-completion accounting, and cost tracking methodologies.
nFamiliarity with ERP/accounting software systems.
