Job description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support financial operations for construction-related projects in Charlotte, North Carolina. This contract position has the potential to become permanent and will partner closely with project teams to maintain accurate billing, payables, receivables, payroll support, and compliance with established accounting practices. The ideal candidate brings strong project accounting experience and can balance day-to-day transactional work with dependable financial support for active job sites.Responsibilities:• Prepare and support customer pay application activity to help ensure timely and accurate project billing.• Monitor outstanding invoices, review receivable balances, and follow established processes to maintain healthy collections.• Process vendor invoices and payment transactions while verifying accuracy, coding, and proper documentation.• Apply company accounting standards and internal controls to daily project financial activities.• Provide financial and administrative accounting support to on-site project management teams throughout the project lifecycle.• Assist with payroll-related tasks, including updates, corrections, and period-end close support.• Maintain accurate project cost records and help reconcile financial data across multiple construction jobs.
