n** Reports To: ** VP of Finance
nWe’re a growing electrical contractor supporting high-impact projects across the region and we’re hiring a Project Accountant who is Excel-strong , detail-driven, and ready to build a solid foundation in project-based accounting.

n** What You’ll Do **
nYou’ll support key project accounting functions, including:
n** Client Billing & Project Support **
nnPrepare and process customer billings (cost-plus, fixed fee, etc.)
nMaintain schedules of values (SOVs) and supporting documentation
nAssist with project closeout financial tasks and final billing support
n n** Accounts Payable + Job Costing **
nnMatch invoices to POs and receivers (qty, pricing, tax/freight approvals)
nHelp ensure costs are coded correctly and job costing stays accurate
nSupport resolution of short pays, deductions, and billing questions
n n** Excel-Based Reporting & Reconciliation **
nnUse Excel daily to track, verify, and organize project financial data
nBuild and maintain spreadsheets that improve visibility and accuracy
nSupport reconciliations and help identify trends, issues, or variances
nAssist with basic dashboards or reporting using Excel (required) and Power BI (nice to have)
n n** Vendor Coordination **
nnSupport vendor set-up and required documentation (W-9s, etc.)
nAssist with lien releases when needed to support timely payments
nHelp resolve invoice/payment issues with professionalism and follow-through
n n** Process Improvement (Supportive Focus) **
nnSupport workflow improvements and documentation
nHelp troubleshoot user issues and escalate system-level items to the right team

nnKeep billing accurate, on time, and contract-aligned
nCatch discrepancies early and resolve issues quickly
nKeep spreadsheets clean, structured, and easy to audit
nBuild strong working relationships across Accounting and Operations
nImprove the team’s speed and accuracy through better tracking and reporting
n n** What We’re Looking For **
n** Required **
nn2+ years of accounting or finance experience (project accounting preferred)
nStrong Excel skills (this role uses Excel daily)
n nExamples: SUMPRODUCT, SUMIFS, XLOOKUP, INDIRECT, PowerQuerry, VBA
nnHigh attention to detail + ability to manage deadlines
nStrong communication and collaboration skills
nComfortable working in accounting systems/ERPs
n n** Preferred **
nnBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
nExperience supporting reporting/analytics (Power BI a plus)
nConstruction, electrical, or project-based industry experience
