Job description
Cost Accounting Manager
Cost Accounting Manager responsibilities include:
Prepares project work in progress schedules and reports
Confers with estimators, team members and Regional Accounting staff on changes and adjustments to cost estimates and budgets
Prepares projections used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work
Prepares cost and expenditure statements
Assesses cost effectiveness of products, projects or services
Tracks actual costs relative to bids as the project develops
Sets up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction
Analyzes and recaps monthly financial data
Requirements:
Minimum of five years job costing or process costing experience working in a construction environment or related field as well as 1-3 years supervisory experience
Strong communication skills
Ability to lead and motivate others
Experience managing change across an organization
Strong analytical skills
Ability to collaborate with a multi-department, multi-location team
Thorough current knowledge of financial and accounting practices and procedures
Ability and willingness to travel
Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
