Employment Type: Full-Time
Overview
We are partnering with a leading industrial construction and energy solutions organization to hire a Site Project Director to lead large-scale EPC and heavy industrial construction projects.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for site-level execution across complex builds, including boiler systems, steam generation, and multidisciplinary construction scopes. The position will begin remotely during early project phases and transition to an on-site leadership role in the Midwest as the project ramps.
This is a true “builder” opportunity —ideal for a leader who thrives in ambiguity and is excited to stand up and operationalize a new business line from the ground up. You will have full ownership of execution strategy, team development, and site operations, serving as the senior-most leader on-site.
Key Responsibilities
Lead overall site execution strategy, including planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management
Direct and develop Site Project Managers and field teams to ensure alignment across all project phases
Oversee safety programs and quality control processes, ensuring full regulatory compliance
Manage procurement strategy, subcontractor selection, and contract administration
Coordinate daily field operations across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and piping scopes
Serve as the primary client-facing leader, managing stakeholder communication and expectations
Drive commissioning, testing, and final project turnover to ensure successful project delivery
Establish processes, workflows, and operational structure for a growing business line
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in construction project management within heavy industrial, utility, or power generation environments
Proven track record leading large-scale EPC or industrial construction projects from preconstruction through turnover
Strong expertise in site execution, including safety, quality, cost, and schedule management
Experience leading and developing Project Managers and field personnel
Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous, or startup-like environments
Experience with contract management, procurement strategy, and subcontractor oversight
Knowledge of permitting processes, regulatory compliance, and construction safety standards
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with boiler systems, steam generation, or related equipment
Background in boilermaking or closely related trades
Experience building new processes, workflows, or business lines
Familiarity with Primavera or similar project scheduling tools
Knowledge of ASME, NFPA, and welding procedures
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Multidisciplinary Construction (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Piping)
Competitive base salary plus performance-based bonus
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
Retirement savings plan with company contribution
Paid time off and company holidays
