Job Title: Project Engineer – Plant Design & Development Location: Denver, CO (Onsite at various plant locations 3 days per week, up to 5 days as needed)
Contract Duration: 1 Year
Schedule: Full-time
Overview
We are seeking a Project Engineer for a 1-year contract in Denver, CO to lead the design, modeling, development, and testing of machines, structures, and systems within a plant environment. This role involves managing projects from concept through completion, ensuring quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness while collaborating with cross-functional teams and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Develop functional requirements and apply standard engineering principles.
Create simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs.
Design and test components; integrate components into final products.
Monitor product quality and process efficiency.
Evaluate designs for effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
Investigate causes of failures and recommend improvements.
Manage projects cradle-to-grave, including planning, budgeting, and execution.
Develop project plans, charters, and manage budgets effectively.
Oversee contractors and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Work with plant teams and external contractors.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline).
Other engineering fields considered if relevant to plant operations.
Prior experience in a manufacturing or plant environment (power plant preferred).
Project management experience, including budget management and contractor oversight.
Familiarity with design principles, simulations, and testing processes.
Proficiency in project planning and financial management.
