Position Summary
A well-established civil engineering firm is looking to add a Civil Engineer, PE with 5–10 years of experience in site civil and land development to its Indianapolis team. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineer looking to step into a technical leadership position, take ownership of project delivery, support and mentor junior engineers, and work alongside project managers on a variety of land development projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as a technical lead on a range of site civil and land development projects
- Oversee and contribute to site design activities, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and roadway improvements
- Develop and oversee construction plans, engineering calculations, and supporting technical documentation
- Complete and review hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, as well as stormwater management designs
- Work closely with project managers, internal teams, and external consultants to coordinate project requirements and deliverables
- Assist with entitlement, permitting, and agency coordination throughout the project lifecycle
- Review technical work completed by junior engineers and provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship
- Attend client meetings and assist with addressing comments and requests from reviewing agencies
- Interpret and apply relevant local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and engineering standards
- Contribute to quality control processes and help maintain consistency across project deliverables
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 5–9 years of experience within site civil and land development design
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proven ability to lead technical design assignments and coordinate with project teams
- Strong technical understanding of grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and permitting
- Familiarity with local jurisdictional requirements and development approval processes
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
