Job Description

The Project Engineer assists the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies. The position objective is to educate the employee in field and office operations while working from a construction project site for a minimum of six months and preferably for the duration of an entire construction project.

Some Things You Can Expect To Do

Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.

Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.

Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.

Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.

Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.

Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.

Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.

Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.

Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.

Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule

You Will Really Stand Out If You

Open to travel for projects.

Four-year college degree in construction management or related field or two-year construction certificate with a minimum of 2 years industry experience

Entry level position, but previous intern experience preferred

General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.

Ability to calculate mathematical calculations, understand architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems.

Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively.

Willingness to travel, and/or relocate, as needed to execute projects.

To Be Successful In This Role

You must have knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.

A bachelor's degree in a construction-related field is required.

You must be able to perform mathematical calculations, understand architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems.

You also must be able to assume responsibility, interface & communicate effectively.

Compensation

The salary range is $68,600.00 - $85,800.00 annually. The base salary may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities.
