Job description
Position Summary:
The Project Executive leads an assigned portfolio of custom millwork projects and owns financial performance, customer relationships, schedule, quality, risk and team accountability from turnover through closeout. The role provides executive oversight across all project functions to ensure safe, profitable and contract-compliant delivery with proactive communication and risk management.
Responsibilities:
Own project budgets, forecasts, profitability and cost-to-complete. Approve financial baselines, challenge forecasts and address losses or margin erosion.
Monitor labor, materials, purchasing, freight, rework, installation, warranty, punch, overtime and vendor costs. Ensure financial exposure is accurately reflected in forecasts.
Manage change work through pricing, documentation, approval, billing and collection. Protect Merric through contract review, notices, written direction and change control.
Oversee billing, receivables, retention, disputed payments and collection risk with Accounting.
Lead executive relationships with customers, general contractors, architects and owners. Set expectations and resolve approval, scope, payment and schedule issues.
Oversee projects from turnover through closeout, including assumptions, exclusions, budgets, schedules, drawings, submittals, samples, field verification, procurement, production, installation and final billing.
Ensure takeoffs, BOMs, purchase orders, pricing, dimensions and production documents are accurate before work advances. Coordinate revisions, material changes and unresolved assumptions across departments.
Maintain visibility into financial, schedule, scope, quality and collection risks. Assign mitigation actions, owners and due dates and ensure follow-through.
Conduct site and milestone reviews as needed. Ensure significant drawing, fabrication, field, quality and warranty issues receive root-cause review and corrective action.
Ensure AWI, finish, veneer, hardware, tolerance and installation requirements are addressed. Balance schedule, budget, quality and safety without bypassing controls.
Lead cross-functional teams, remove barriers, address resource and performance issues, facilitate decisions and hold teams accountable for forecasting, documentation, change management, communication and established processes.
Required Qualifications:
Experience managing complex construction, millwork, manufacturing or project-based work.
Experience with project budgets, profitability, forecasting, schedules, scope, contracts, change orders, customers and cross-functional teams.
Strong risk management, communication, organization, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Architectural millwork or specialty manufacturing experience.
Portfolio or commercial construction experience.
AWI knowledge and project financial reporting or forecasting experience.
