Job description
Project ManagerThe Project Manager role plays a crucial role in Tesla's Megapack Distributed Energy project deployment team, responsible for administrative and coordination activities with internal and external parties. This Project Manager will support a high volume of projects for the Distributed Energy team, historically referred to as the Commercial and Industrial segment.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate between a volume of customers and all internal teams (including Project Engineering, Sales Operations, Demand Planning, Logistics, Commissioning, Field Service etc.) to maximize the efficiency of BESS deploymentMonitor construction contract requirements and deliverablesInteract with a diverse team to solicit status updates and identify potential risks in project planProvide administrative support to construction management staff, managing project documentation including submittals and RFIs, creation of transmittals, and issuing documentationMaintain change orders, submittal, and document (drawing) control logsPrepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetingsResearch payment history, generate purchase orders, and interface with accounts payablePrepare of slide presentations, draft of meeting minutes, managing schedule, and drafting of project execution plansUpdate/collate monthly reports providing support to project leads and construction management teamRequirementsDegree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Science, a related field, or the equivalent in experience4-6 years of professional construction experience in renewables, utilities, or industrial settingsAbility to report to office in Palo Alto, CAAbility to travel ~10% of time to job sitesAbility to read and understand design and construction drawingsAbility to multi-task, prioritize, work efficiently and independently, being proactive in identifying tasks to complete and anticipating needs of staffExceptional communication skills (written and verbal), excellent grammar, spelling and proof-reading skills and follow-up effectively with all staffing levels and clients/customers, and must be able to follow standard filing proceduresProficient computer skills, with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint) and MS Project experience strongly preferredCompensation & BenefitsBenefitsAlong with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deductionFamily-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefitsDental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contributionCompany Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSAHealthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefitsCompany paid Basic Life, AD&DShort-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period)Employee Assistance ProgramSick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid HolidaysBack-up childcare and parenting support resourcesVoluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insuranceWeight Loss and Tobacco Cessation ProgramsTesla Babies programCommuter benefitsEmployee discounts and perks programExpected Compensation $96,000 - $162,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
