Job description
Project ManagerA well-established mechanical and plumbing contractor is seeking a Project Manager to oversee commercial HVAC and plumbing construction projects throughout Southern California. This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction and planning through installation, commissioning, and closeout.This is a strong fit for someone with project management experience specifically within mechanical construction who understands the coordination, financial, and operational side of large commercial HVAC and plumbing projects.Key ResponsibilitiesManage commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical construction projects from startup through closeoutOversee project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and overall financial performanceManage RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, and project documentationCoordinate equipment and material procurement, including long-lead itemsDevelop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and procurement timelinesWork closely with superintendents, foremen, field teams, and project engineersCoordinate with general contractors, owners, engineers, vendors, and other tradesPartner with BIM/VDC teams on mechanical coordination and constructabilityReview plans, specifications, shop drawings, and project requirementsManage subcontractors and vendors throughout project executionIdentify project risks, scope changes, and cost impactsParticipate in project meetings and maintain strong client relationshipsSupport commissioning, punch list, turnover, and project closeoutRequirements5+ years of project management experience within commercial constructionDirect experience with a mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, or piping contractor strongly preferredExperience managing project budgets, change orders, RFIs, submittals, procurement, and schedulesAbility to read and understand mechanical plans, specifications, and coordinated drawingsExperience working directly with field leadership, general contractors, and project stakeholdersFamiliarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management softwareBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferredStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsCompensation & BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid holidays and PTO
