Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager, Water to lead the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. You will be responsible for managing project scope, programme, budget, quality, health and safety, procurement, and risk, ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently and in line with contractual, regulatory, and client requirements. The role will involve coordinating multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders across all phases of delivery.

Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining project plans, budgets, forecasts, risk registers, and progress reports; monitoring performance against agreed milestones; and implementing effective change control processes. You will lead project meetings, resolve technical and commercial issues, manage interfaces between workstreams, and ensure that decisions and actions are clearly recorded and followed through. You will also support the preparation of tender documentation, review contractor submissions, oversee construction and commissioning activities, and ensure that projects are properly closed out with all documentation, lessons learned, and handover requirements completed.

Applicants should have proven experience managing water, wastewater, utilities, civil engineering, or other complex infrastructure projects, together with a relevant qualification in engineering, construction, project management, or a related discipline. Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies, contract administration, health and safety obligations, quality assurance, and environmental requirements is essential. Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with relevant industry contracts, construction management systems, and project reporting tools would be advantageous.
