Job description

Recognized as one of the top affordable housing developers in the country, L+M and its affiliate companies are responsible for approximately $20 billion in development and investment, and combined have over 57,000 high-quality residential units in construction or that have been acquired, preserved, or completed.Areas of Responsibility:Assumes overall responsibility for all field operations including the supervision, organization, and direction of all construction activities to ensure field operations are in compliance with the contract documents, schedule, quality standards, safety standards, and budget.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Ability to manage multiple staff membersEnsures manpower in the field is organized, effectively utilized and is composed of qualified and knowledgeable personnel, including subcontractor manpower.Develop a logistics plan with the project manager so that the subcontractors complete their work safe and efficiently, in a coordinated wayImplements and coordinates construction methods, schedules, manning charts, as well as material and equipment requirements.Administers the site safety plan and emergency plan, coordinating with subcontractors.Confirm daily construction reports and incident reports are completed on a timely basis.Manages onsite activities and administers contractual activities of subcontractors and vendors.Implements procedures to ensure construction operations are continuously adhering to the contract documents, schedule, quality standards, and budget.Must communicate effectively to all project participants including strong interpersonal and influencing skills.Understanding of all phases of construction operations including engineering disciplines, means and methods, and field management.Analyze and develop details per the contract documents and where required, produce new methods to implement the work, including work performed out of sequence and/or work performed simultaneously.Prepare look-ahead schedules.Ensures safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to and that tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.Deep knowledge of safety compliance including federal, state, and local safety codes.Recognizes when problems exist and evaluates the facts in order to resolve issues efficiently. Seeks assistance from supervisor when necessary.Maintain positive attitude towards field work and demonstrates sound judgment in making field decisions.Determines the priority of assignments based on critical deadlines that must be met.Ability to work independently.Develops and trains subordinates.Minimum Education Requirements:Bachelor's degree preferred in engineering, architecture, or construction management, or equivalent work experience with high school or vocational degree.Minimum Years of Experience Required:15+ yearsAdditional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:MS Word and Excel are required.AutoCAD is recommended.L+M offers competitive compensation and benefits and tremendous potential with a growing residential real estate developer/builder organization.
