The Propulsion Component Responsible Engineer is responsible for designing, building, qualifying, acceptance testing, and delivering flight valves, actuators, mechanisms, and other mechanical systems. Responsibilities: Fully own critical flight hardware from concept to delivery

Work with system owners to architect and integrate components within engine and vehicle systems

Perform system-level architecture, sizing, and design trades

Lead system design, analysis, development testing, qualification, and production introduction of mechanical systems

Scope vehicle-level operational methods and limits to ensure reliability and personnel safety across production and operations

Make risk-conscious technical decisions aligned with program posture

Prioritize tasks to meet top-level program and company objectives

Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace, physics, materials, etc.)

5+ years of engineering, competition team, or applied research experience related to fluids, mechanisms, or engine systems

Preferred Skills and Experience: Master’s degree in engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace, physics, materials, etc.)

4+ years of experience developing hardware from concept to production

Proficiency in compressible/incompressible flow, thermodynamics, kinematics, mechanism design, mechanics of materials, and materials

Experience using CAD to design parts and assemblies

Strong knowledge of GD&T and stack-up analysis

Scripting experience (Python, Matlab, Excel, VBA, etc.)

Ability to execute in a scrappy, entrepreneurial manner with tight timelines

Professional experience using Siemens NX/Teamcenter and ANSYS

Willingness to travel to support hardware builds and flight tests

Additional Requirements: Willingness to travel to support hardware builds and flight tests
