Job description
Investigator PositionThe Kent County Prosecutor's Office conducts evidence-based investigations into alleged violations of city, county, state, and federal laws in support of criminal prosecutions. At this time, we are seeking to hire an Investigator. Work is performed under general supervision in this team-oriented office. In this professional role, responsibilities include:Completing independent investigations which may include obtaining, verifying, and/or validating evidence related to casesLocating and interviewing witnessesConducting interviews, preparing statements, and analyzing dataVisiting, recording, and photographing/diagraming crime scenesAssisting with evidence preparation for trialServing subpoenas which may include victim/witness transportationAppearing as a witness and testifying at trials if needed.Many other duties as required.Investigators at the Prosecutor's Office are integral parts of the prosecution team, who demonstrate a commitment to serving victims of crime.Minimum QualificationsAssociates degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, sociology, legal studies, or other relevant field with at least one (1) year of law enforcement experience, is required; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Must possess valid Michigan driver's license and have access to transportation for the performance of job duties.Additional Information*Notices will come via email so please be sure to monitor the email address indicated on your application* Kent County is a great place to work and thrive, but don't take our word for it.
