Job DetailsESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Set up and operate manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and other machine tools.Operate conventional mills, lathes, drill presses, saws, and grindersWork closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to create production toolingComplete set-ups and operate equipment with minimal supervisions/assistanceRead and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions.Select appropriate tools, fixtures, speeds, and feeds for efficient and accurate machining.Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measuring devices.Adjust machine settings to maintain tolerances and meet quality standards.Troubleshoot machining issues, including tool wear, material inconsistencies, and programming errors.Maintain accurate production records, including job travelers, inspection reports, and equipment logs.Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure safe, reliable operation.Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve processes.Comply with all safety standards, company policies, and ISO/AS quality requirements.Other duties may be added if necessary to meet business needsSKILLS & COMPETENCIES:Attention to detailMechanical aptitudeProblem-solving skillsTime managementTeamwork and communicationCommitment to safety and qualityEDUCATION & EXPERIENCERequiredHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum 5 years of prototype and tolling experience or evidence of masteryProficiency with machining math, including geometry and trigonometry.Ability to use precision measurement tools with a high degree of accuracy.Strong understanding of materialsDesiredTechnical/vocational training in machiningPHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
