Job description
Part-Time Psychiatric Care Worker (PCW)PCWs under the direction of the Medical Director, ECT Clinical Nursing Supervisor and Clinical Nurses, provide staffing and clinical support to patients and staff in the Electroconvulsive Therapy Clinic (ECT).Responsibilities include:Maintaining an adequate supply of clean, disinfected, and/or properly dressed stretchers and wheelchairs.Assisting with clinical support tasks as directed, including preparing/placing/removing IV bags; obtaining vital signs; conducting pregnancy tests; placing/removing monitor leads; and securing rings/earrings as appropriate.Transporting patients to and from treatment areas and inpatient units; assisting with ambulation, positioning, moving, and lifting patients in accordance with safety and mobility guidelines.Filing required documentation, including paperwork and EEG strips.Restocking the refrigerator and snack bin with appropriate and available items.Preparing and filing ID bands, patient labels, consent forms, assessment forms, and patient schedules.Cleaning and disinfecting stretchers and equipment as needed; disposing of used linens in designated bins; cleaning ECT cart(s) and restocking supplies as needed.Completing bite block requisitions and delivering items for cleaning.Performing other related duties as assigned by clinical staff.Required qualifications include:Completion of at least one year of college coursework (or equivalent combination of education and experience).Effective verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated reliability, including a strong attendance record and consistent work performance.Ability to safely transport and assist with moving patients via stretchers and wheelchairs throughout the facility.Ability to receive, prioritize, and carry out directions from multiple staff members in a fast-paced clinical environment.Desired qualifications include:Bachelor's Degree especially in Psychology, Neuroscience PreferredCertified Nurse Assistant or Paramedic TrainingExperience working with psychiatric population in a clinical role.This Monday-Friday Day position consists of working up to 40 hours/week. Hours of operation: 6am-4pm.
