nJob Summary
nMohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider to join our Behavioral Health team in the Emergency Department. This full-time, hospital-employed overnight position plays a critical role in the assessment, stabilization, and triage of patients presenting with psychiatric emergencies. This role is fast-paced, autonomous, and deeply impactful, offering the opportunity to serve a high-need population during critical moments of care. nCore Job Responsibilities
nnnBased in the Emergency Department providing frontline psychiatric evaluations
n
nnPerform comprehensive psychiatric assessments, risk evaluations, and crisis intervention
n
nnDetermine appropriate level of care
n
nnCollaborate with ED physicians, psychiatric teams, social workers, and community agencies
n
nnCoordinate care and admissions to inpatient psychiatric unit when necessary
n
nnParticipate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives
n
nnDemonstrate quality in documentation
n
nnMust be on site
n
nnMust have MHNP Certification
n
n nEducation/Experience Requirements
nREQUIRED:
nnnMaster’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program OR certification from an accredited NP program OR completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
n
nnMinimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
n
nnAbility to meet and maintain credentialing requirements and hospital priviledges.
n
nnKnowledge and competency in a wide range of clinical areas.
n
nnFamiliar with EHR/EMR software.
n
n nLicensure/Certification Requirements
nREQUIRED:
nnnCurrent NYS Nurse Practitioner licenses OR Current NYS license as a Physician Assistant with prescription privileges.
n
nnCurrent BCLS, ACLS certifications.
n
n nPREFERRED:
nnActive ANCC certification in relevant specialty
