nAbout the Opportunity
nKARE CENTER in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a passionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) to join our growing behavioral health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and integrated mental health care to a diverse patient population. You will work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and primary care providers to deliver holistic, evidence-based, person-centered care in a collaborative and supportive environment.
nKey Responsibilities
nConduct thorough psychiatric evaluations including mental status examinations, diagnostic interviews, and risk assessments.
nDiagnose and treat a wide range of psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and psychotic disorders.
nPrescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring for efficacy, tolerability, and safety.
nProvide psychoeducation to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and medication management.
nCollaborate with interdisciplinary team members including psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and PCPs to ensure coordinated care.
nMaintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
nConduct telepsychiatry appointments as needed in addition to in-person visits.
nPerform follow-up medication management visits and monitor patient progress toward treatment goals.
nParticipate in crisis intervention and safety planning for high-risk patients.
nEngage in ongoing quality improvement, case conferences, and continuing education activities.
nQualifications & Requirements
nMaster of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specialization.
nCurrent PMHNP-BC certification (American Nurses Credentialing Center).
nActive and unrestricted Michigan NP license (or eligibility to obtain).
nValid DEA license for controlled substance prescribing.
n1-3 years of psychiatric NP experience preferred; new graduates with clinical psychiatric placements are encouraged to apply.
nExperience with EHR systems; proficiency in clinical documentation.
nStrong diagnostic, communication, and interpersonal skills.
nCommitment to trauma-informed, culturally competent, patient-centered care.
nCompensation & Benefits
nCompetitive salary: $110,000 - $150,000 per year based on experience.
