Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) – Onsite Only
Compensation: $96.88 - $99.88 / hour
Department: Mental Health
Provide a full range of psychiatric services to incarcerated patients in accordance with state scope of practice, collaborative protocols, and established policies. Deliver direct psychiatric care while providing clinical consultation to mental health and healthcare staff. Work within state guidelines to support consistent, high‑quality psychiatric services across the facility. Clinical consultation and supervision are sought as required under applicable collaborative practice requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment, and follow‑up care while exercising independent medical judgement.
Monitor and manage psychotropic medications, including effectiveness, side effects, and required follow‑up.
Collaborate with mental health, medical, and administrative teams to ensure consistent psychiatric and mental health services.
Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and participate in required meetings, consultations, and on‑call coverage.
Support crisis intervention, referrals, transfers, and emergency or involuntary treatment processes as allowed by scope of practice.
Qualifications & Requirements
Master of Science in Nursing or post‑master’s certificate from an accredited nurse practitioner program specializing in psychiatric mental health across the lifespan.
Minimum one (1) year of experience as a PMHNP required, or may be waived if approved by the Vice President of Advanced Practice Program.
Corrections experience in a PMHNP role preferred.
Unrestricted current license to practice as a PMHNP in the state of practice.
Current board certification as a PMHNP.
Current DEA registration (unless deemed optional by the Chief Psychiatric Officer).
Current BLS certification.
Additional Details
Position is Monday‑Friday with 8‑hour day shifts. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a PMHNP required.
