Job description
Lasante Health Center is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management to adults, children, and adolescents. You will work alongside our licensed clinicians and psychiatric nurse practitioner, in close collaboration with our primary care colleagues.
nLaSante Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center and New York State Office of Mental Health–licensed Article 31 outpatient clinic in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Our patients are predominantly Medicaid-insured, with deep roots in the Caribbean and Haitian communities. Our behavioral health department has grown to more than 34 clinicians across two Parkside Avenue sites, with a third location opening.
nSchedule
nNo on-call. No nights. No inpatient coverage.
nChoose the structure that works for you: Five 8-hour days, four 10-hour days, or three 12-hour days. This position is hybrid, combining on-site and telehealth.
nResponsibilities
nnnConduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing medication management
n
nnTreat patients across adult and child/adolescent populations
n
nnCollaborate with therapists, care coordinators, and primary care providers on shared patients
n
nnContribute clinical input on high-risk cases and treatment planning
n
n nMaintain timely documentation consistent with OMH and FQHC requirements
nRequired qualifications
nnnMD or DO from an accredited medical school
n
nnCompletion of an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency
n
nnCurrent, unrestricted New York State medical license, or license-eligible
n
nnBoard-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN); if board-eligible, certification expected within five years of hire
n
nnActive DEA registration
n
nnWillingness to treat both adult and child/adolescent patients
n
n nPreferred qualifications
nnnChild & Adolescent Psychiatry subspecialty training or certification
n
nnPrior outpatient experience in an FQHC, community mental health, or integrated care setting
n
nnHaitian Creole, French, or Spanish language ability
n
nnExisting credentialing with New York Medicaid managed care plans
n
n nCompensation and benefits
nnn$290,000 – $320,000 base salary, commensurate with experience and certification status

nnFederal loan repayment: LaSante is an FQHC in a designated shortage area and a STAR LRP–approved facility. Eligible clinicians may qualify for the HRSA Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program (up to $250,000 for a six-year full-time commitment) or the NHSC Loan Repayment Program, and we qualify as an employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Eligibility is determined by HRSA and depends on individual circumstances.
