Job description
A health services organization in New York is seeking a Psychiatrist for an inpatient setting in Rockland County. This role provides direct psychiatric care, collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, and supports evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing coordination for behavioral health patients.
About the Opportunity:
Shift: Day shift
Schedule: Monday through Friday, with weekend call rotation
Hours: Standard business
Setting: Inpatient hospital
Responsibilities: Provide direct care to patients and coordinate care across the continuum
Assess patients' physical, psychological, spiritual, and social needs
Direct patients to the next appropriate service and track their progress
Collaborate with the Medical Director to ensure appropriate behavioral health evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and medical screening
Document medical and psychiatric care accurately in the medical record
Qualifications: Licensed physician in the State of New York
Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry
Eligible for membership on the Medical Staff
Knowledge of basic medical and psychiatric terminology
