Academic Appointment with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine—ideal if you enjoy teaching and mentoring
Work closely with psychiatry residents and medical students , shaping the next generation of physicians

Be part of a system with 13 residency programs and 16 fellowships , including Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
Meaningful Clinical Work—With Balance
Manage a focused inpatient caseload (10–12 patients/day)
Treat an acute adult population in a high acuity, short-duration environment
Lead a multidisciplinary team , enhancing both patient outcomes and your leadership skills
Practice in a setting that values quality over volume , allowing you to deliver thoughtful, patient-centered care

What You Bring
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Board certification or eligibility (ABPN)
Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
The posted salary range may not reflect the full value of the total compensation package. You are eligible to participate in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs to improve the minimum salary.
Historical averages of Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus earnings are included in the maximum salary. In addition, comprehensive benefits and pension offerings further enhance the overall rewards package.
