Compensation

60% of Net Collections (Estimated earning potential $210-$270 per clinical session)

Employment Type

1099 Independent Contractor (practice requirement of at least 16 hours per week)

This is a remote position; hybrid opportunities available in the Kansas City Metro

Role Summary

The Lilac Center is seeking a highly qualified, Board-Certified Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to join our thriving practice in the Kansas City Metro. Our ideal candidate is an experienced clinician who is passionate about providing comprehensive psychiatric care across the lifespan—ages 5 through 80—in an outpatient setting who works a minimum of 16 hours per week.

Psychiatrist Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients in the outpatient setting.

Provide medication management and therapy to a diverse patient population.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Stay current with advancements in psychiatric treatment and research methodologies.

Make referrals for psychotherapy when indicated and collaborate with all other mental health professionals involved in the patient’s care to ensure comprehensive treatment.

Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal/ethical standards.

Advocate for clients’ needs and rights, including access to psychiatric services and medications.

Other duties as assigned.

Competitive compensation package based on productivity: 60% Net Collections (Estimated earning potential $210-$270 per clinical session)

Requirements

Active, unrestricted medical license in Kansas and Missouri, or willing to obtain

Board-Certified Psychiatrist (MD or DO)

Possess and maintain a valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number and all other lawfully required licenses and certificates to prescribe medications, including controlled substances.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience treating children, adolescents, adults, and older adults (ages 5–80) in private practice

Strong understanding of psychiatrist assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and therapeutic techniques

Knowledge of evidence-based interventions in psychiatric treatment
