Psychiatrist - Mental Health Services
Leavittsburg, Ohio
Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 40 Hours per Week
Day Shift | No Nights, Weekends, or Holidays
Position Overview
Seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Psychiatrist licensed in Ohio to provide on-site psychiatric services within a correctional healthcare setting. This is a full-time opportunity with a weekday-only schedule and flexible start/end times based on facility needs. No on-call coverage is required.
The selected provider will typically see 12-16 patients per 8-hour shift. The assignment is expected to last at least 6 months and may lead to a long-term opportunity for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Conduct patient assessments, examinations, and clinical documentation using an electronic health record system
- Manage psychiatric medications and treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing as needed
- Refer patients for specialized treatment or additional care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Participate in peer reviews and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, policies, and scope of practice requirements
Qualifications
- Active Ohio Medical License
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR Certification
- DEA Certification preferred (required prior to assignment start)
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Correctional healthcare and behavioral health experience preferred
