About the Facility This inpatient psychiatric facility delivers structured forensic behavioral health services to an adult population within a dedicated clinical environment. Locum tenens coverage is sought on an ongoing basis beginning as soon as the selected clinician is credentialed.
About the Facility Location Springfield is a historically significant destination, home to the Abraham Lincoln Home National Historic Site, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, and the Dana-Thomas House, among numerous museums and landmarks. Outdoor recreation is accessible at Washington Park, Lake Springfield, and Henson Robinson Zoo. The city also sits along the historic Route 66 corridor, adding cultural significance to any visit.
About the Clinician's Workday The psychiatrist will provide full-time inpatient psychiatric services on a dedicated adult forensic unit, working 40 hours per week on-site during day shifts structured as five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days. Clinical responsibilities include medication management, orders, treatment planning, restraint debriefs, and consults with social workers for a caseload of approximately 25 adult patients. The role is assigned exclusively to one forensic unit, with no floating between units required. Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team - including clinical managers, social workers, and directors - is integral to this position, and no NP supervision is required.
