Job description
Job Title: Psychiatrist Physician
Specialty: Psychiatry
Place of Work (City/State): Fort Yuma, CA - Indian Health Service (IHS)
Start Date: December 1, 2026
Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
How many shifts needed per month: Approximately 20 shifts per month
Patient Volume: Approximately 12-14 patients per day
License: Any active, unrestricted U.S. State Medical License
Certifications: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Experience Needed: Psychiatry experience preferred
Special Skills Needed: Skilled in psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions, medication management, crisis assessment, and culturally sensitive care within diverse and underserved populations.
Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 8-10 weeks
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide medication management, ongoing psychiatric care, crisis assessment, and appropriate referrals and follow-up services.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
