Overview
nAnsible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting a psychiatrist to provide onsite outpatient, inpatient, emergency psychiatry services to eligible beneficiaries of the Hampton VA Healthcare System located at 100 Emancipation Drive Hampton, VA 23667. Floating to the Outpatient CBOC located in Virginia Beach, VA may be required as well. This is a 1099 position, and the schedule is typically Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with call and possible weekends. If you accept employment with Ansible, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers.

nResponsibilities
nnnProvide comprehensive psychiatric care in:
n
nnOutpatient clinics
n
nnInpatient psychiatry units
n
nnEmergency Department consultations
n
nnInpatient consultations
n
nnManage inpatient psychiatric patients, including:
n
nnAdmissions
n
nnPsychiatric evaluations and diagnoses
n
nnTreatment planning
n
nnMedication management
n
nnOngoing treatment
n
nnDischarge and transfer planning
n
nnMedical record documentation
n
nnEvaluate and treat:
n
nnNew patient referrals
n
nnSeverely mentally ill patients
n
nnPost-discharge follow-up patients
n
nnPatients requiring suicide risk assessments
n
nnPatients requiring crisis intervention services
n
nnConduct:
n
nnDiagnostic assessments
n
nnMedication renewals
n
nnE-consults
n
nnEmergency psychiatric evaluations
n
nnProvide weekend and holiday coverage for inpatient psychiatry patients, including up to approximately 40 patients
n
nnProvide after-hours telephone consultations regarding:
n
nnPsychiatric emergencies
n
nnCrisis management
n
nnMedication issues
n
nnRestraints and seclusions
n
nnTransfer consultations
n
nnOrder clarification
n
nnGeneral psychiatric patient care questions
n
nnRespond to hospital call-back requests and return to the hospital within one hour when required.
n
nnSupervise Residents, Interns, Medical Students, and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
n
nnComplete all patient documentation in CPRS/EHR within required timelines.
n
nnEnter prescriptions, imaging orders, and laboratory orders using VA systems.
n
nnParticipate in peer review activities and mental health case reviews.
n
nnAverage 12-15 patients per day per psychiatrist during weekday clinic coverage
n
n nQualifications
nnnMD or DO
n
nnActive, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
n
nnNo history of restriction, suspension, or revocation
n
nnBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
n
nnAmerican Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
n
nnActive AHA BLS Certification
n
nnDEA license (active)
n
nnNational Provider Identifier (NPI) (active or obtainable)
n
nnMust be able to pass a federal background investigation
n
n nAll candidates must be able to:
nnnSit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
n
nnLift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
n
nnLift up to 20 lbs
n
nnCarry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
n
nnPush/pull with 30 lbs of force
n
