Job description
Join the County of Los Angeles Department of Mental Health at Antelope Valley Kidz Connection in Palmdale, CA. This temporary role (up to one year) offers a 30-hour/week schedule, Tues Thurs (8a 6:30p) with a mix of in-person and telepsychiatry coverage . Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, crisis intervention, and collaborative care for children and adolescents in the child welfare system.

Temporary position up to one year
Schedule: 30 hours per week
Hours: Tuesday Thursday, 8:00am 6:30pm
50% of time in person (telepsychiatry also accepted)
About the Program:
Antelope Valley Kidz Connection (AVKC) provides comprehensive mental health services to infants, children, youth, families, and caregivers in or at risk of out-of-home placements referred by DCFS. Services include assessments, consultations, outpatient and field-based treatment, crisis intervention, individual and group therapy, and ongoing psychiatric care.
Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric evaluations, prescribe/monitor/renew medications, and ensure continuity of care
Provide psychiatric services to children and adolescents in the child welfare system, including field visits when needed
Participate in multi-disciplinary treatment teams and collaborate on client care issues
Provide consultation to DCFS/DHS staff and attend Child & Family Team meetings
Screen for health concerns and refer to physical health providers as appropriate
Deliver crisis intervention and supportive counseling as necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with computer systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Effective time management and organizational abilities
Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
Commitment to community-based care and collaboration with diverse populations
