Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist Austin, TX 1099 Independent Contractor Flexible Inpatient Role Adult/General Psychiatry A well-established behavioral health program in the Austin, TX area is seeking an Adult/General Psychiatrist to join its inpatient clinical team as an independent contractor (1099) . This is a great opportunity for a psychiatrist who enjoys a focused inpatient environment, predictable weekday hours, and the ability to structure earnings based on a fee-for-service model.
Position Overview • Schedule: Monday Friday, daytime hours
• Setting: Adult inpatient unit
• Caseload: patients per day total
• Admissions: 3 5 per day
• Coverage: Weekend shifts optional; weekday evening call is phone-only and limited to your own patients
• Model: 1099 independent contractor, fee-for-service
• Duties Include:
Initial psychiatric evaluations
Follow-up visits
Discharges
Participation in treatment team planning
Collaboration with nursing, social work, and interdisciplinary staff
• Optional: Supervision of NPs available with additional stipend
Requirements MD or DO with completed Psychiatry residency
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Must already be opted into Medicare
Must be able to see Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and private insurance
Eligible for Texas medical license
No visa sponsorship (H1B/J1 not accepted)
Comfortable practicing in an inpatient behavioral health setting
