Job description
Psychiatrist opening - Cedar Rapids, IA 100 miles from Des MoinesPosition DetailsFull-time, permanent position
Outpatient only
Monday-Friday, daytime shifts
Provides direct psychiatric services and consultation on site, at satellite offices, via telemedicine, or through consultation contracts
Opportunity to serve a diverse outpatient population
Acts as a liaison with hospital staff, other professionals, and agencies regarding psychiatric care
Clinical DetailsPerforms comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment of assigned patients
Prescribes and manages medications according to current standards of care
Provides psychiatric consultations as indicated or requested
Makes referrals or recommendations for appropriate services
Maintains accurate and timely documentation and records
RequirementsMD or DO
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry
Licensed to practice medicine in Iowa upon hire
Minimum 4 years of experience in psychiatry (can include residency)
Must obtain board certification within 2 years if not already certified
Experience in community mental health preferred
Eligible to work in the United States
