Job description
Psychiatry Locums $240/Hour + Separate Weekend Call Compensation This is not a high-volume clinic assignment disguised as a lifestyle opportunity.
We are recruiting a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist for an ongoing locum tenens position in Kalispell, Montana. The physician will primarily provide adult outpatient psychiatry Monday through Friday, with weekend inpatient call only once every six to seven weeks.
Compensation $240 per hour
$1,250 flat stipend for weekend call availability
Active clinical work performed during call paid at $240 per hour
Malpractice coverage provided
Weekday Schedule Monday through Friday
9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
No patients scheduled during lunch
Average of 7 14 patients per day
Visits scheduled in 20-minute increments
Appointment lengths range from minutes based on visit type and physician preference
Primarily adult outpatient psychiatry
Meditech EMR
Weekend Call Weekend call is approximately once every six to seven weeks.
Friday at 5:00 p.m. through Monday at 8:00 a.m.
Phone availability for admission decisions
Approximately two phone consultations
Daily inpatient rounding
Approximately two admissions
Average combined inpatient census of 12
Coverage includes adult and adolescent patients
Occasional mental-health holds or involuntary admissions
30-minute response requirement
The behavioral health program includes:
Two-bed special care unit
18-bed adult psychiatric unit
18-bed adolescent unit serving patients ages
Clinical Support Physicians work alongside an established multidisciplinary team that includes:
Psychiatrists
Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner
Licensed clinical therapists
Registered nurses
Psychiatric technicians
Recreation therapist
Front-office staff
Clinic manager
On-call security
Dietary and housekeeping support
No advanced practice provider or resident supervision is required.
Candidate Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Active Montana medical license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact
Current BLS certification
Comfortable providing outpatient care and weekend inpatient coverage
Comfortable treating adolescents during weekend call
Experience with psychiatric admissions, involuntary commitments, seclusion and restraint protocols
Fellowship training preferred but not required
Assignment Details Start: As soon as credentialed
Duration: Ongoing
Temporary privileges available
Credentialing may be expedited for qualified candidates
